Phone: 732-870-6000
Product Class: UV Cure Adhesive
Product Description: Proprietary Acrylic Blend
Dot Hazard Class: Not Regulated
II. PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES
VISCOSITY; (Brookfield) : Approx.50-350 cps @25 C APPEARANCE: Clear, yellow liquid
VAPOR DENSiITY: Heavier than air SOLUBILITY IN WATER; Insoluble
LIQUID DENSITY @ 25 C: 1.05 (water = 1.0) STABILITY: Stable
VOLATILES: Negligible
ODOR: Low, mild
III. HAZARDS IDENTIFICATION AND CONTROL
Unstable (reactive) upon depletion of inhibitors. Therefore avoid high temperatures, localized heat sources, oxidizing and other chemicals, freezing, direct sunlight or uv exposure.
Acute (short term) Health Effects: Suspect eye, skin and respiratory tract irritation hazard. May cause delayed skin irritation and sensitization. Suspect slight ingestion hazard.
Avoid eye, & skin contact. Practice good hygiene.
Wear neoprene gloves and goggles when handling and provide good local ventilation, especially if aerosols are present.
Chronic (long term) Health Effects: None if above precautionary controls are utilized.
Upon proper curing, the adhesive no longer retains these hazardous properties.
IV. OCCUPATIONAL EXPOSURE LIMITS
A PEL or TLV has not been established
V. FIRST AID MEASURES
Eye irritation:: Wash eyes (retract eyelids) with copius quantities of water for several minutes. Get medical attention.
Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing. Wash thoroughly with soap and water. If sticky, use waterless cleaner first. Do not use organic solvents for cleanup as they may dry or irritate the skin and act as a carrier for chemical. absorption.
lnhalation: Remove to fresh air. If overcome by exposure, give oxygen or artificial respiration and get emergency medical assistance
Ingestion: If conscious, give lukewarm water. Do not induce vomiting. Get medical attention.
VI. FIRE AND EXPLOSION
Flash Point: Greater than 93C/200 F
High temperatures, inhibitor depletion, accidental impurities, or exposure to radiation or oxidizers may cause a spontaneous polymerization reaction generating heat and pressure. Closed containers may rupture or explode during runaway polymerization. Do not enter fire area without proper protection. Acrid smoke-fumes/carbon monoxide/carbon dioxide and perhaps other toxic vapors may be released. Fight fire from a safe distance/protected location. Heat can increase pressure and chance of rupture. Water spray/fog may he used to cool container but is ineffective at extinguishing due to low solubility. Notify authorities if liquid enters sewer/public waters.
Extinguishing Media: Dry Chemical, CO2, Water spray, Foam, Water Fog.
VII. ACCIDENTAL RELEASE MEASURES
Dike area to prevent spreading. Absorb small spills with vermiculite, sand or other inert absorbing material and place in labeled closed container. Dispose of as a chemical waste in accordance with current local state and federal law. Clean up large spills with squeegee and/or vacuum. Wear adequate protective clothing and equipment.
VIII. STORAGE AND HANDLING
Materials should be handled and stored in a cool (below 90 F), dark, dry place. Temperatures over 120 F should be avoided for maximum shelf life. Prevent contamination by foreign materials. Do not mix used material with original material but rather set aside for next use. Maintain oxygen headspace in containers -do not blanket with inert gas which can deplete inhibitors and cause premature polymerization.
